We were asked by Pixillion Films to design the titles and promotional materials for their new short film about summer love and the power of music, titled Last Song.
Writer and director Remco Merbis looked to provoke a sense of nostalgia with the storyline – a young couple find love for the first time, ignited by their mutual appreciation of music.
We echoed the 90s feel of the film through typography and a system of graphic windows that offer a view into their story, giving the design approach a slightly retro aesthetic.
A limited edition print of the film poster was presented to guests at a special screening.
For the end credits we set the typography against a dark backdrop of spinning vinyl to match the atmosphere of the film and to reference the key opening scene, where the female lead plays the song that connects the storyline.
